Flower Mandala: White and Orange Daffodil mandala

White and Orange Daffodil

White and Orange Daffodil I, Copyright 2010 David J. Bookbinder

After a long hiatus, I’ve started creating Flower Mandala images again. This is from a daffodil I shot this weekend. I’d be interested in hearing what you think/feel when you look at it, as I’ve also resumed work on a book of 52 Flower Mandalas.

Thanks!

  1. Thanks for the additional references. My blog is just a place to entertain friends, family and myself. Your work is at a different level. I’ve spent some time trying to transform a photograph or two into a mandala, with limited success. What I’m finding is that the process seems to be more rewarding than the product.

  2. Thanks, Reese. I appreciate the compliment. Also took a look at your website and am impressed with the wide variety of subjects you do so well.

I haven’t written instructions on how to create these sorts of images, but I have written, on my blog on Beliefnet.com, about various aspects of their origin, creation, and the effect creating them has had on me.

  3. David, your work is really quite beautiful… mesmerizing. Have you ever written about how you create these images?
